Professor Dr. Srinath Perera

Prof. Dr. Srinath Perera is a Chair Professor of Built Environment and Construction Management and the founding Director of the Centre for Smart Modern Construction (c4SMC) at Western Sydney University, Australia. He serves as a Board member and Chair of the Future Leaders Committee of CIB (International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction) and is President of the Australasian Universities Building Education Association (AUBEA). He is an Editor-in-Chief of Construction Innovation (Q1) and Speciality Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers Blockchain (Industry). He is Chief Investigator for three large-scale Australian Research Council (ARC) Industrial Transformation Hubs and Training Centres. A Fellow of the Royal Society of New South Wales and the Australian Institute of Building, he is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, and Australian Institute of Project Management. With over 35 years of academic and industry experience as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager, he has received numerous awards, including the Professional Excellence in Building award from Australian Institute of Building in 2019 and 2024, and the 2024 Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Postgraduate Research Training and Supervision. As a pioneer in construction informatics, integrating artificial intelligence and digital technologies into construction project management, Prof. Dr. Srinath Perera has authored over 400 publications and is ranked among the top 2% of global scientists in Building & Construction by Stanford University/ Elsevier.
